A WARM WELCOME TO OUR NEW BISHOP

It is a privilege and indeed an honour to welcome our newly appointed Bishop, the 103rd Bishop in the line of succession, the Right Reverend George D. Crenshaw and Missionary Supervisor, Mrs. Laurenna Crenshaw. We rejoice with both of you in your appointments in the Northeastern Episcopal District and welcome you to the London Midland Conference and to the Ransom Pentecostal AME Zion Church.

Bishop Crenshaw brings unique experience, perspective and competence to this work from your rooted presence as a child of God, an ordained minister of the Gospel and a strategic leader. From your upbringing in the spirited worship traditions of the south, so evident in the life of Jefferson County Alabama, to your visionary leadership of the Alabama-Florida Episcopal District, you have demonstrated a wonderful range of gifts in administration, teaching, shepherding and preaching. Gifts that are essential to building “a ministry designed to empower and edify.”

We are delighted to welcome Missionary Supervisor, Mrs. Laurenna Crenshaw, a teacher by training who is widely known for her service and advocacy on behalf of children and youth. She has served as coordinator of the Y’s for the WH&OMS in both South Carolina and Georgia for over 20 years. Indeed, the Missionary Supervisor carries a “special love for youth and children” with a demonstrated passion for teaching having been recognised as Teacher of the Year for the State of South Carolina.

We acknowledge the generous time and insight that each of you have provided to our Church and the community, and we are humbled by the many enthusiastic and highly profiled contributions. For all this we give thanks to God for bringing you to us and we express our heartfelt welcome to each of you as well as to your children, Quentin Dewayne and Kennedy Diane.

May God give you all the strength and joy you need for this very important ministry in the Freedom Church!
